In an article in which authors of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung dealt with philosopher videos on Youtube, it was said that »one could see thinkers in action and observe how body language, of which there is no trace in the texts, can be found Word takes over «. If there is a contemporary philosopher in whom body language and style of thinking seem to come to coincidence, it is Slavoj Žižek, the philosophical “blasting master” from Ljubljana.
Susan Chales de Beaulieu and Jean-Baptiste Farkas literally captured these “nervous intellectuals” (the daily newspaper) in their film portrait coproduced by arte. They not only let Žižek explain the core elements of his theory, they also elicit insightful explanations of his mercurial writing style and upload him to a monitor-based encounter with his longtime companions Alain Badiou and Jacques Rancière. As extras, further interviews with Žižek, restaurant talks as well as various excerpts of one of his legendary lectures can be seen.
